x-tracker

First cross-platform mobile app: student expense tracking. Built with Expo and React Native for an undergraduate final-year project. Never deployed to a store.

Mobile engineer

  • React Native
  • Expo

Problem

The FYP needed a mobile client on top of a Node.js REST API so students could log and review expenses on a phone.

What I built

  • Shipped an Expo / React Native MVP with navigation, screens, and local data flows.
  • Paired it with a Node.js REST API as the backend half of the final-year project.

Outcomes

  • Used as the mobile MVP for a BSc Computer Science final-year project.
  • Never published to the App Store or Play Store — an academic client, not a launched product.

Final-year mobile MVP

x-tracker is the first cross-platform mobile app I shipped for myself: a student expense tracker in Expo and React Native (2022).

It was the client half of my University of Nigeria Computer Science final-year project. The other half was a Node.js REST API. The mobile app was never submitted to a store and was never hosted as a consumer product.

I keep it here because it is the honest start of the mobile work that Companio will need later — navigation, screens, and a phone-shaped client — not because it is a launched fintech.
